An oval of translucent Yemeni agate in a deep, purple-leaning red, the colour the market calls Rummani. Instead of a high dome it is cut with a flat polished table and bevelled edge, which lets the fine grain of the stone show through.
The sterling silver work is all granulation: a beaded collar around the stone, a raised six-lobed block of beads on each shoulder, and flower clusters running along the band, with an open scroll gallery beneath.
