A large oval of translucent Yemeni agate in deep crimson, even from edge to edge, with a faint purple depth where the dome turns away from the light.
The sterling silver mount is carved in relief. On each shoulder the head of an ibex, its long ridged horns swept back, looks out through a spray of laurel-like leaves. A beaded rim frames the stone, and a Greek-key band closes the design near the base of the band.
An old emblem of the Arabian highlands, worn close.
