An oval of translucent Yemeni agate in a warm orange-red, deeper at the centre and gently grained inside, set into a flat octagonal plate of polished silver.
The eight-sided head gives the ring a strong, architectural outline. Its side walls carry engraved panels of Arabic calligraphy, and flowing leaf scrolls run down each shoulder between rows of beads, all on a darkened ground. Inside the band the silver is stamped 950.
A signet with presence, and writing worth a closer look.
