A large oval of milky, softly banded Yemeni agate with a cluster of dark branches at its centre, brown, black and blue-grey, like a tree in winter seen through mist. The market calls this pattern Shajari.
A gold-plated crown of textured teeth holds the stone. The sterling silver shoulders are laid with deep scarlet enamel and gold-plated arcs, each framing a pair of orange-red baguettes, with a line of small red stones circling the head.
Ivory, scarlet and gold: a ceremonial ring for a special occasion.
