An oval of deep purplish red Yemeni agate, the pomegranate colour the market calls Rummani, with a soft natural grain that shows as the light moves through it.
A frame of fine beading surrounds the stone. On each sterling silver shoulder a grapevine is engraved: broad leaves, a full cluster and curling tendrils over a darkened ground.
