Banded Yemeni agate laid down in three broad layers: cream at the crown, a deep honey glow through the middle, and ochre-yellow below, like the strata of a desert cliff at the end of the day.
A fluted collar of sterling silver holds the stone. The shoulders are pierced with open scrolls, curls and fine granules, so light passes through the metal as well as the stone.
