A natural, untreated Yemeni agate cut as a medium-large oval cabochon. The body is a deep wine-red that reads liver-dark in the hand and glows red at the thin edges. Floating in the upper half is a grey-ochre inclusion with a pale rim, shaped much like an island seen from above, with a second smaller patch near the lower edge. It is the kind of natural picture the Yemeni trade groups under musawwar.
The mount is deliberately quiet: a plain, polished sterling silver bezel with a rounded rim, on a smooth rounded band. Nothing competes with the stone.
One piece, one stone, sized about US 10; the plain band suits any hand.
