The stone is a tall oval cabochon of natural, untreated white Yemeni agate. Its milky ground is crossed from top to bottom by a single dark streak that thins and flares like a flame, giving a plain white stone an unexpected focal line. The dome is high and cleanly polished.
The bezel is finished with a ribbed, crenellated collar. On the shoulder a curved sabre is raised in relief against a dotted ground, and behind it a band of leaves and braid runs down to the shank. The recesses are darkened so the silver work reads clearly.
One ring, one stone, made once.
