The stone is a large oval Yemeni agate cut as a high dome and polished to a dark mirror. Face-on it is black; where the light gets through the edge of the dome it glows a deep violet-blue. Natural and untreated, with no banding to interrupt the surface.
Two arms of hand-braided silver rope rise from the shoulders, sweep around the stone and meet in a point, holding it like a cradle above a thin bezel. The shank carries two rows of the same braid on each side, darkened in the recesses so the twist stands out. Sterling silver 925.
A ring that looks heavy and quiet in daylight and comes alive in the evening.
