The stone is a natural, untreated black Yemeni agate cut as a rectangular tablet: a flat raised table with four bevelled facets sloping to the edge, polished to a hard shine. Along one short edge a thin grey-white natural layer crosses the bevel, a reminder that the stone was layered as it formed.
The 925 sterling silver mount holds the tablet in a flat bezel finished with a beaded rim. Each shoulder is worked in relief with three five-petal flowers and a leafy sprig inside a border of raised dots and scrolls, the recesses darkened; the shank is left plain and polished.
A sharp, architectural ring that still carries a traditional floral shoulder.
