The stone is a natural, untreated Yemeni agate in an olive green that is rarely seen from Yemen, cut as a large, tall oval cabochon. It is translucent enough to glow softly in daylight, with an even colour that warms slightly toward one end.
The 925 sterling silver bezel is ribbed like a coin edge. The shoulders begin with hand-engraved leaf scrolls on a blackened ground and open out into a pierced section of scrolling wire with small silver granules at the junctions, so light passes through the ring from the side. The shank is plain and polished.
An uncommon green stone, and silver that lets the air in.
