A high oval dome of Yemeni agate in smoky grey and olive, translucent, deepening toward the centre like a storm seen from far off, with a paler glow at its rim.
The sterling silver frames it with a row of square beads. On each shoulder a lion’s head with a full mane is carved in relief, set among knotwork and small flowers, the ground darkened so the mane stands out strand by strand.
A quiet stone, with a strong guard.
