The stone is a large oval cabochon of natural, untreated Yemeni agate, translucent pale honey to cream and deepening to amber toward its lower edge. Near the centre a cluster of black dendritic inclusions forms a small scene: a solid dark shape with a flat base and a tapering point, a smaller mark to its side, and a scatter of round black spots above. To us it reads as a sail on still water beneath cloud; others will see a tree bent by wind.
The 925 sterling silver mount leaves the stone alone: a plain polished bezel notched at each end, and a brushed matte shank with three curb-chain channels cut into each side and oxidised dark, the longest running down the centre.
A warm picture stone on a mount that keeps silent.
