The stone is a natural, untreated Yemeni agate in an uncommon olive green, cut as a high oval cabochon. Its colour is even from edge to edge, and under direct light the dome shows a soft inner glow with a faint lighter cloud at the centre.
The 925 sterling silver bezel is plain and polished, edged with a fine beaded line. Each shoulder carries a hand-engraved palmette, a fan of leaves rising from a base, blackened in the recesses so the silver reads in relief; a ribbed leaf chain runs along the sides. Turn the ring over and the back of the head is engraved as carefully as the front, with two five-petal rosettes among scrolls.
A green stone is a quieter choice than the reds, and this one is set in silver that rewards a second look.
