A kabdi Yemeni agate, natural and untreated, cut as an oval cabochon. Held to the light it reads a deep liver red with a darker cloud at the centre; in daylight the surface shows its swirls, honey-brown and a pinkish-plum band wound through with smoke-grey, so the stone changes with every angle.
The bezel is plain with a beaded rim. The shoulders carry deeply engraved foliate scrolls, leaf curling over leaf down to the shank, with the ground oxidized so the relief reads crisply.
One piece, one stone, no second copy.
