The stone is a natural, untreated red Yemeni agate (Ahmar), cut as a high oval cabochon and polished to a clear, even surface. It is translucent, so the red warms to orange where the light comes through, and there are no veins or bands to interrupt it.
The 925 sterling silver mount frames the stone twice: an inner polished bezel and an outer border engraved with running spirals. Each shoulder carries a raised five-petal flower with a fern leaf beside it, worked in relief on a darkened ground, and the pattern continues in a finer scroll down the shank.
A balanced ring where the silver work is generous but the stone still leads.
