A large oval of Yemeni agate in autumn colours: orange-brown and rust fading into grey, with a fine mossy texture like a hillside seen from far away. The market calls stones that hold a scene Musawwar.
The sterling silver is richly worked. Acanthus leaves and scrolls fill each shoulder against a darkened ground, edged by a braided rope border and a row of cut triangles, around a clean polished bezel.
Warm earth colours, framed in classic ornament.
