The stone is a large, high-domed oval cabochon of natural, untreated Yemeni agate in the shajari (dendritic) family: a milky white ground that glows at the rim, scattered with golden-brown and dark-brown dendrites, some branching like small trees, some settling into rounded blotches. The pattern sits in the centre of the face where it reads best.
The crown bezel is a ring of pierced arrowhead tabs, each drilled with a small hole, standing up around the stone like a zigzag crown. Below it the shoulders are cut deep by hand: wheat-ear leaves, five-petal flowers, a fringed border and a long stem that ends in a round bud, with the recesses oxidised so the relief reads sharply. The silver is 925 sterling.
A men’s ring with a lot of handwork and a stone that earns the frame.
