The stone is a large rectangle of natural, untreated Yemeni agate in the deep liver-red of the Kabdi family, cut in steps with a flat polished table and a bevelled crown of narrow facets. The colour is dark and even throughout, semi-opaque, with a faint red glow at the thin bevels where light gets through.
The 925 sterling silver mount holds the stone with a row of flat rectangular tab prongs standing along each side like the battlements of a wall, rather than a closed bezel. The shank is brushed and pierced with two parallel slots on each side, so it splits into three bars before closing under the finger.
A dark architectural ring, square in every line.
