A large oval of Yemeni agate in a dark wine-red with a purple cast, of the kind the market calls Kabdi. Turned in the light, it shows a fine texture inside and a red glow at its edges.
The sterling silver mount is a grapevine. Clusters of grapes, vine leaves and curling tendrils climb each shoulder against a darkened ground, and the inner shank is pierced with openwork so the ring stays light on the finger.
A stone the colour of the vine it sits in.
