Ladder Stripe Banded Red Agate Ring

The stone is a natural, untreated banded Yemeni agate: a deep red dome crossed by one broad translucent band of honey-orange, its edges soft but unmistakable, so the colour shifts as the ring turns. It is cut as an oval cabochon with a high dome and a bright polish.

The bezel is finished with a beaded milgrain ring. On the shoulders, closely spaced horizontal stripes are engraved like the rungs of a ladder, bordered by beaded lines and darkened in the grooves, running down to a beaded collar at the sterling silver shank.
