The stone is a natural, untreated Kabdi Yemeni agate, the liver-coloured type: very dark maroon at the ends of the dome, shading to a glowing deep red through the centre where light gets in, with a small darker blot off to one side. It is cut as an oval cabochon with a high dome and a bright polish.
The bezel and both shoulders are covered in rows of raised dots, darkened between them so the surface reads like granulation. On each shoulder a teardrop cartouche holds a curved sword in polished relief, and the ring closes into a plain polished sterling silver shank.
A dark, textured men’s ring with a sword at its side.
