Trefoil Braid Red Picture Agate Ring

A large oval of translucent red Yemeni agate, warm as coals, with grey-lilac and cream patches edged in white and a mustard cloud near the top. Red stones that carry a scene like this are what the market calls Musawwar.

The sterling silver bezel has a notched, castellated rim. The shoulders are covered in raised trefoils, each a small three-pointed star, set between beaded lines and braided rope bands that run down to the shank.
