The stone is a natural, untreated Yemeni agate in two tones: a deep liver-brown, almost black, upper half and a soft yellow lower half, with a red-brown cloud drifting between them. The oval cabochon is high-domed and polished, and the colour boundary is soft rather than banded.
The bezel is plain and framed by a beaded wire. Each shoulder is carved with a layered rose in relief, surrounded by leafy scrolls that continue down the shank.
