The stone is a natural, untreated Yemeni agate of the Shajari kind: a pale cream-white translucent oval holding two distinct olive-brown dendrites, one bushy and upright, the other spreading sideways like a wind-bent tree. The edges of each growth feather out into the clear body, which is what sets a good Shajari apart from an ordinary moss stone.
The sterling silver mount keeps to a single technique. A plaited wheat-braid border runs around a contoured collar whose sides are left open, then divides into a wishbone split shank with a double braid on each arm. The ground is oxidised so the braid stands out in relief.
Tree and braid, two living lines in one quiet ring.
