A large, domed oval of translucent Yemeni agate in the deep red the market calls Kabdi, with a faint violet edge where the light passes through it.
The sterling silver collar is fluted and set with raised studs around a polished bezel. On each shoulder an eagle spreads a wing in darkened relief among fern and flower sprays, all held inside a braided rope frame. It is heavy, detailed work that reads clearly from across a room.
A ring with presence, for a hand that can carry it.
