A large domed oval of milky, translucent Yemeni agate with a cool blue-grey haze, scattered with tufts of rust and plum that grow through the stone like moss. The market places stones like this among the Shajari, the branched agates.
It is held in a gold-plated crown of rounded lobes over a finely beaded collar. Down the sterling silver shoulders run stepped rows of red baguette and round stones, and on the side panel a gold-plated jambiya, Yemen’s curved dagger, lies over granulated silver above a pierced shank.
A ring made for a wedding or an Eid, with the dagger of home at its side.
