At first the stone reads almost black. Turn it, and a large oval of Yemeni agate opens into deep violet and plum brown, with a warm amber glow moving under the dome. The market calls stones of this dark, liver-toned family Kabdi.
The sterling silver is broad and smooth, rising into a high bezel with nothing to distract from the stone. A single engraved panel of small flowers, lined in black, runs along each side of the band.
Reserved in daylight, alive by lamplight.
