An oval of Yemeni agate in the very dark wine red the market calls Kabdi. From the side it looks almost black; face-on, the red comes through deep and even.
The stone sits in an octagonal head of sterling silver with bevelled corners, each corner panel carrying raised motifs in the manner of Arabic calligraphy. Scrolls and leaves curl down the shoulders between beaded borders.
An architectural ring with the feel of an old seal.
